Subpoena Party
This is all over the news, it's a big deal, and may result in some very serious problems for the suddenly re existent executive branch. Yoo-hoo dudes, sounds crucial.
The Senate Judiciary Committee has served Vice President Dick Cheney and other officials in the White House and Justice Department with subpoenas over President George W. Bush's warrantless wiretapping programs. "Over the past 18 months, this Committee has made no fewer than nine formal requests to the Department of Justice and to the White House, seeking information and documents about the authorization of and legal justification for this program. All requests have been rebuffed. Our attempts to obtain information through testimony of Administration witnesses have been met with a consistent pattern of evasion and misdirection."Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said. In the subpoena letters, Leahy made particular reference to the Bush administration's attempts to roll back existing oversight of the domestic spying program conducted through the National Security Agency. The letters were sent to the Justice Department, the Office of the White House, the Office of the Vice President, and the National Security Council. The recipients of the subpoenas are called on to comply with the subpoenas by July 18.

Band Biz
Last night Greg Eckels joined us and will be playing with us at the NHRA gig in July! We rocked out and had good fun. Hopefully he can do the Fiorino's jam the week beforehand, but only if he feels ready. To Infineon and beyond!!!

Here is an original graphic image I have been working on lately. It is album art for an upcoming DJ Tool-Box. I've done a few album covers for the studio. Hope you like it!!!

Meshers Out!!!

Supreme Court hands victory to Bush on faith-based initiatives

On a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that a group of taxpayers did not have standing to sue the US government for its funding of faith-based initiatives with federal money. The decision, Hein v. Freedom From Religion Foundation, was written by Samuel Alito, the second Supreme Court Justice appointed by President George W. Bush, according to the website SCOTUSBlog.

In a second 5-4 ruling, the Court ruled that schools could censor student expression outside of school grounds. The case was prompted by Juneau, Alaska, students who were punished after they held up a 'Bong Hits 4 Jesus' poster while attending a field trip to see the running of the Olympic Torch, according to CNN. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the decision. (Courtesy RawStory)
