"Russian space officials on Friday began laying plans to move up the launch of a Russian cargo ship, as cosmonauts aboard the international space station struggled for a second day to reboot failed computers controlling the orbiting outpost’s orientation. The problem started with a spike in static electricity while cables were being hooked up to the station’s solar panels, said Nikolai Sevastyanov, head of the Russian state-controlled rocket builder RKK Energia."The article continues to describe the plight of the station and her crew. In short, the US solar panels screwed up the Russian guidance and life-support systems, and the shuttle is leaving the station crew behind after it does its thing. The Russians plan to send parts and supplies ASAP. Tough row to hoe if you ask me!
