The Natives are Restless

Well, it seems as if the vox populi is in effect right here in Cal-i-for-ni-a. Here is another great article from RawStory.
A group of progressive and Democratic activists in California will be using the July 4 holiday to inaugurate a nerve center that will work to bring more Congress members around to supporting the impeachment of President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. The Impeachment Center's opening comes as one House Democrat took aim at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's statement that impeachment remained 'off the table.

Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles, members of local Green and Progressive Democratic party organizations will be joined by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) to inaugurate an 'Impeachment Center.' The Center will serve as "a [Los Angeles] countywide resource for advancing the impeachment of George W. Bush & Richard Cheney," with "phonebanking, letterwriting and other Impeachment related resources available for distribution." The facility will be open on a weekly basis.

The launch of the Impeachment Center comes on the heels of the commutation of the sentence of convicted former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby. Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL) is the latest House member to contemplate impeachment, and has taken aim at one of his party's top leader's unwillingness to consider the possibility.
Here's one top Dem who is asking hard questions, let's give it up for Chairman Conyers! Courtesy Think Progress:

Conyers to hold hearing on executive clemency
The House Judiciary Committee, “upset after Bush’s decision to grant clemency to I. Lewis ‘Scooter’ Libby,” will hold a hearing on July 11 to examine presidential clemency power. From a statement issued by Conyers’s office:
In light of Monday’s announcement by the president that he was commuting the prison sentence for Scooter Libby, it is imperative that Congress look into presidential authority to grant clemency, and how such power may be abused. Taken to its extreme, the use of such authority could completely circumvent the law enforcement process and prevent credible efforts to investigate wrongdoing in the executive branch.

Scooter Independence Day

Happy 231st Birthday America! We have, it seems, been liberated from all those constitutional rights our country was founded on. The Paris Hiltons and Scooter Libbys of the world are free also and apparently answer to a different set of rules than the rest of us. DoJ protocols were discarded for Scooter's sake, and the judge and prosecutor weren't even consulted. Now it looks like Darth had a say in the decision to commute his #1 guy's sentence. Quasi-executive privilege? Check this one out, courtesy RawStory.

In a White House press conference on Tuesday morning, White House Press Secretary Tony Snow appeared to suggest that Vice President Dick Cheney's views may have been considered by President George W. Bush as he deliberated on whether to commute or pardon the conviction of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

"Everybody had an opportunity to share their views," Snow said in the Tuesday morning press conference.

Snow later clouded up his statement that the Vice President had been involved in the deliberations.

"I'm sure that the Vice President may have expressed an opinion," Snow said, then adding. "He may have recused himself, I honestly don't know."

But Snow insisted that the commutation of Libby's sentence was not a 'personal favor' to Cheney.

"The president does not look upon this as granting a favor to anyone," he asserted. "To do that is to misconstrue the nature of the deliberations."

Yeah, I'm sure it was a carefully made, de-libby-erate decision considering how tough the sentence was. I'm con-vinced that no one feared what he might say if he were to do any time for his crime. The Senate should investigate this kind of thing. Let's hope so.

Take Two?

This just in... Laura Bush seen revealing her true face when asked about her supposed estrangement from her husband as of late. A video camera malfunction allowed a reporter to capture this image. Now do you understand why Duhbya and Condie have been allegedly getting it on! What's a playa ta do? Destroying the constitution and Iraq is "Hard Work", so give the poor guy some slack. Heck of a job Bushie, heck of a job!

Band Biz

No practice tonight, too many fireworks, picnics, etc. I hope everyone has a great Independence Day and keeps the faith of democracy alive. We have to keep ourselves vigilant of oppression and defend our Republic against all enemies both foreign and domestic.

Hello everyone. I know it's been awhile since I've posted on our blog, but it's summer, you know? I've been taking care of business in other aspects of life and all. Anyway, here are the jams from last nights practice. I also included a song called, 'Makes Me Wonder'. I think this would be a great song to cover if we can figure out how to translate it over to cover songage.

No More the Rule of Law
Can you believe this....a lying, traitorous scag gets his just sentence commuted by his boss, who may be involved eyes-deep in the shit himself!!! Recusal is the correct response to conflict-of-interest issues with government officials in decision-making positions. We must not allow this kind of inequity to prevail in our Republic, lest we fall as so many would-be world conquerors have before. Without justice, we have nothing to stand upon. Two systems of law that preys upon the poor isn't equitable or sustainable in the long run. Many will see the perversion of our laws and fight to ensure we never have this happen again. Vote for change.

Peace, Meshers out!

I'm Back!

Band Biz

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted! The few I did in June were not up to snuff and hope in July to be a bit better as a blogging buddy. There are a great many things going on in every one's personal life, the summertime blues so to speak. Yet the band is still chugging on full steam to our Great Big Gig in the Sky, July 28 at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma. Russell had a flash of insight and rearranged our set list so as to facilitate the old bump and grind, get up on the dance floor and break off a piece of that funk, baby! Ah yeah it's gonna sizzle fo' shizzle my brizzle! There are some good new songs for you all to check out as soon as the Brewman can post some tracks. Check you all out later, PEACE!!!

Subpoena Party
This is all over the news, it's a big deal, and may result in some very serious problems for the suddenly re existent executive branch. Yoo-hoo dudes, sounds crucial.
The Senate Judiciary Committee has served Vice President Dick Cheney and other officials in the White House and Justice Department with subpoenas over President George W. Bush's warrantless wiretapping programs. "Over the past 18 months, this Committee has made no fewer than nine formal requests to the Department of Justice and to the White House, seeking information and documents about the authorization of and legal justification for this program. All requests have been rebuffed. Our attempts to obtain information through testimony of Administration witnesses have been met with a consistent pattern of evasion and misdirection."Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said. In the subpoena letters, Leahy made particular reference to the Bush administration's attempts to roll back existing oversight of the domestic spying program conducted through the National Security Agency. The letters were sent to the Justice Department, the Office of the White House, the Office of the Vice President, and the National Security Council. The recipients of the subpoenas are called on to comply with the subpoenas by July 18.

Last night Greg Eckels joined us and will be playing with us at the NHRA gig in July! We rocked out and had good fun. Hopefully he can do the Fiorino's jam the week beforehand, but only if he feels ready. To Infineon and beyond!!!

Here is an original graphic image I have been working on lately. It is album art for an upcoming DJ Tool-Box. I've done a few album covers for the studio. Hope you like it!!!

Supreme Court hands victory to Bush on faith-based initiatives

On a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that a group of taxpayers did not have standing to sue the US government for its funding of faith-based initiatives with federal money. The decision, Hein v. Freedom From Religion Foundation, was written by Samuel Alito, the second Supreme Court Justice appointed by President George W. Bush, according to the website SCOTUSBlog.

In a second 5-4 ruling, the Court ruled that schools could censor student expression outside of school grounds. The case was prompted by Juneau, Alaska, students who were punished after they held up a 'Bong Hits 4 Jesus' poster while attending a field trip to see the running of the Olympic Torch, according to CNN. Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the decision. (Courtesy RawStory)

The Simpire Strikes Back

This article is courtesy of The Raw Story and NYT

Imperial Privilege
"The Office of Vice President Dick Cheney told an agency within the National Archives that for purposes of securing classified information, the Vice President's office is not an 'entity within the executive branch' according to a letter released Thursday by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform."

"Waxman noted that Cheney's office had declared itself not affected by an executive order amended by President George W. Bush in 2003 regarding classification and declassification of government materials.""The Vice President's office's refusal to comply with the executive order and the National Archives's request prompted the National Archives to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office. But the Justice Department has not followed up on the Archives's request."

In response, Waxman issued a set of questions to which he requested answers by July 12. The full set of documents from Waxman's office can be found at the Oversight Committee's website.

Dick's Nix
The Vice President attempted to "nix" the agency that was targeting him, Friday's New York Times reports.

"For four years, Vice President Dick Cheney has resisted routine oversight of his office’s handling of classified information, and when the National Archives unit that monitors classification in the executive branch objected, the vice president’s office suggested abolishing the oversight unit, according to documents released yesterday by a Democratic congressman," the New York Times reports.

"The Oversight Committee has learned that over the objections of the National Archives, you exempted the Office of the Vice President from the presidential executive order that establishes a uniform, government-wide system for safeguarding classified national security information," Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), the Committee's chairman, wrote in a letter to Cheney. "Your decision to exempt your office from the President's order is problematic because it could place national security secrets at risk. It is also hard to understand given the history of security breaches involving officials in your office."

Excerpts from Times article:

In the tradition of Washington’s semantic dust-ups, this one might be described as a fight over what an “entity” is. The executive order, last updated in 2003 and currently under revision, states that it applies to any “entity within the executive branch that comes into the possession of classified information.”

J. William Leonard, director of the oversight office, has argued in a series of letters to Mr. Addington that the vice president’s office is indeed such an entity. He noted that previous vice presidents had complied with the request for data on documents classified and declassified, and that Mr. Cheney did so in 2001 and 2002.

But starting in 2003, the vice president’s office began refusing to supply the information. In 2004, it blocked an on-site inspection by Mr. Leonard’s office that was routinely carried out across the government to check whether documents were being properly labeled and safely stored.

Google pushes for 100 mpg car

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- "Google said Tuesday it is getting in on the development of electric vehicles, awarding $1 million in grants and inviting applicants to bid for another $10 million in funding to develop plug-in hybrid electric vehicles capable of getting 70 to 100 miles per gallon. The project, called the RechargeIT initiative and run from Google's philanthropic arm, Google.org, aims to further the development of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles - cars or trucks that have both a gasoline engine and advanced batteries that recharge by plugging into the nation's electric grid. The project also aims to develop vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, allowing cars to sell their stored power back to the nation's electricity grid during times of peak demand." Check out the rest of the story here

That is a great way to encourage innovation, in my opinion. Motivate people and they can do anything, as every great idea is birthed of necessity and creativity.

Deep Shizznit in Space

This spaced-out story courtesy MSNBC.
"Russian space officials on Friday began laying plans to move up the launch of a Russian cargo ship, as cosmonauts aboard the international space station struggled for a second day to reboot failed computers controlling the orbiting outpost’s orientation. The problem started with a spike in static electricity while cables were being hooked up to the station’s solar panels, said Nikolai Sevastyanov, head of the Russian state-controlled rocket builder RKK Energia."
The article continues to describe the plight of the station and her crew. In short, the US solar panels screwed up the Russian guidance and life-support systems, and the shuttle is leaving the station crew behind after it does its thing. The Russians plan to send parts and supplies ASAP. Tough row to hoe if you ask me!

Many things are afoot today folks, so here goes....
Judicial Committee Issues Subpoenas

Looks like the attempted appointment of Harriet by Dubya could be construed as a very scary move to ensure the Supreme Court would tilt a certain way if required to referee any close elections. This is an excerpt from Raw Story:
Two former White House officials will face subpoenas for their involvement in the firing of 8 US Attorneys earlier this year. House investigators will issue a subpoena for Harriet Miers, former White House Counsel, and the Senate will issue a subpoena for Sara Taylor, a former top aide to Karl Rove. Both committees also sought a variety of documents from the White House. "Let me be clear: this subpoena is not a request, it is a demand on behalf of the American people for the White House...to help us answer the questions that remain," said Rep. John Conyers (D-MI). "The breadcrumbs in this investigation have always led to 1600 Pennsylvania. This investigation will not end until the White House complies with the demands of this subpoena in a timely and reasonable manner so that we may get to the bottom of this."

FBI Terror Watch List 'Out of Control

In a connected story from The Blotter:
A terrorist watch list compiled by the FBI has apparently swelled to include more than half a million names. Privacy and civil liberties advocates say the list is growing uncontrollably, threatening its usefulness in the war on terror The bureau says the number of names on its terrorist watch list is classified. A portion of the FBI's unclassified 2008 budget request posted to the Department of Justice Web site, however, refers to "the entire watch list of 509,000 names," which is utilized by its Foreign Terrorist Tracking Task Force.

"If we have 509,000 names on that list, the watch list is virtually useless," he told ABC News. "You'll be capturing innocent individuals with no connection to crime or terror."

U.S. lawmakers and their spouses have been detained because their names were on the watch list.
Reporters who have reviewed versions of the list found it included the names of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, at the time he was alive but in custody in Iraq; imprisoned al Qaeda plotter Zacarias Moussaoui; and 14 of the 19 Sept. 11, 2001 hijackers, all of whom perished in the attacks.

"There's a reason the FBI has a '10 Most Wanted' list, right? We need to focus the government's efforts on the greatest threats. When the watch list grows to this level, it's useless as an anti-terror tool," Sparapani said..

See ya next time, Meshers Out

Tuesday June 12, 2007 - Garageband Loops - Acid Music Loops - Royalty Free Music - Flash Loops - Guitar Loops - Hip-Hop Loops - Thats what it is all about!! Inner Rhythm Studios has a great selection. Well, Inner Rhythm had 257 visitors yesterday! Wow! Another record day! It's so sweet to see our efforts bear fruit. 1320 got together last night to put our studio back together and discuss our next move. There is talk of a block party in Sebastopol on July 3 or 4, maybe both days. I don't think we will make any money, but I'm sure we will have a party! We have practice tonight, so we will talk more about it then. I plan on working on two songs for sure. I want to play 'What I Got' and 'Walkin on Sunshine'. These are two songs that need work. I just finished working out again today. I got on my treadmill and actually ran 5.2 miles! It took me 55 minutes. I feel great! The workouts have definately helped my energy level. I'm going to need it for all of the jams that keep presenting themselves. If our project can stay together, there is the possibility that we may be able to play the Health and Harmony fair next year. That is a kick-ass concert to play. We would be playing along side seriously famous groups. Anyway, I'll have some more audio to post hopefully tomorrow. Peace out....Russ

The show was incredible!!! We all had so much fun playing for the throng of writhing peeps undulating to our grooves that we have decided to gig again soon. We also managed to generate some revenue to help with our studio rent. The crowd response was phenomenal and our sound, dynamic. We teetered on the periphery of greatness itself! This posting is coming a little late, so enjoy Brewmanchu's audio offering and check out the show for yourself.

Well, I think we got some issues to look at as a nation. Most of us want border security, affordable health care that works, jobs that pay a living wage, an educational system that really produces results, and that we have a world worth living in today and for future generations to come. Why can't we the people vote our vision into being? Who best represents the values and socio-economic interests that would bring about our greatest good? Vote for a Change!

The end of the plug? Scientists invent wireless device that beams electricity through your home

This is an excerpt from The Daily Mail.
"In a breakthrough that sounds like something out of Star Trek, scientists have discovered a way of 'beaming' power into a light bulb, mobile phone or laptop computer without wires. MIT researchers said Thursday they will soon be able to charge a computer or cell-phone battery from across a room, perhaps making the annoyance of wires or dead batteries a thing of the past The team at MIT, a top US academic laboratory, has shown their fledgling "WiTricity" technology can power a 60 watt bulb from a power source two meters (seven feet) away Scientists have known for nearly two centuries that it is possible to transfer an electrical current from one coil of wire to another without them touching..The phenomenon, called electromagnetic induction, is used in power transformers and electric motors around the world Rather than sending power from a transmitter to a receiver as a conventional electromagnetic wave - the same form of radiation as light, radio waves and microwaves - he could use the transmitter to fill a room with a 'non-radiative' electromagnetic field. Most objects in the room - such as people, desks and carpets - would be unaffected by the electromagnetic field. But any objects designed to resonate with the electromagnetic field would absorb the energy."

There is something fishy here. Could the EM field disrupt biological processes in an unknown way? How much would it cost to retrofit all the devices we use everyday? Can I use it to rock? Just asking some simple questions here...
US immigration bill trounced
A deal on granting legal status to 12 million illegal immigrants collapsed amid partisan rancor in the US Senate on Thursday, dealing a sharp blow to President George W. Bush. Republicans complained his maneuver would not allow them enough time to offer amendments to the legislation, a key second term priority for Bush. Democrats however accused some Republicans of offering repeated "killer amendments" in an effort to make the bill collapse. This bill is garbage. Pure politics, pure bulls*&#!!! Good riddance to bad rubbish, I always say..

Acid Garageband Loops and Royalty Free Music - Flash music

Friday June 8, 2007 - Garageband Loops - Acid Music Loops - Royalty Free Music - Flash Loops - Guitar Loops - Hip-Hop Loops - Thats what it is all about!! Inner Rhythm Studios has a great selection. Ok gang. I'm back. Here's what's up... I joined ASCAP today. ASCAP is a non-profit organization responsible for collecting royalty payments for musical artists. Inner Rhythm Studios has many projects that are on-going and an entire library of music that has yet to be released. So if any of you people need custom tracks, please let us know. We have a killer selection of just about every style. If you guys would like to check out one of our latest projects go to - http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/1439768 - This is an R&B CD that we finished a few months ago. Smoov and I are trying to promote it all over the internet. JJ sings his heart out on these tracks. We are also looking at releasing M.L.V. for commercial licensing. We are going to go with PumpAudio.com. Pump Audio is a very straight forward site that reviews submissions to include in their catalog(hardrive) that they 'pump'. It's an interesting concept. Composers can make some real money for usuage in commercials with name brand comapanies like Coke, Kodak, MTV, NBC, stuff like that. Lord knows, it's almost impossible for musicians to make a living. There is an old joke....How do you get a musician off of your porch? - - - .....Pay him for the pizza!! All kidding aside, This is what Inner Rhythm Studios is all about. Making $$$ for the artist. I think Pump is just another income stream that will payoff. We shall see. I need to get the guys to sign the contracts, though. And that is a daunting task in and of itself. Anyway, I guess we need to make some more loops, huh? Well, I hope to be in studio more this month. I need to get ahold of my Harp player. I want to do that loop cd for sure. Peace all.

Good morning everyone! I hope your weekend was wonderful and exciting. I have been feeling a bit under the weather the last couple of days, but now I’m back in the saddle again! Lots of stuff has happened so let’s break it down. A few subtle changes are in store for the blog’s format and content, but as always, here is the news.

Breaking News
Scooter Watch 2007

The verdict’s in and it’s official. Scooter Libby, the lying traitorous Neocon warmonger has been sentenced to 30 months in prison and a $250,000 fine. It couldn’t happen to a more deserving ass-munch than this idiot.

The Democratic Debate

The Democratic Party had a televised debate on CNN Sunday night, hosted by Wolf Blitzer. It seemed to me that the time allotments were disproportional in favor of top tier candidates. The whole thing was pretty lame. No hard questions, no definitive winner, albeit Edwards was pretty impressive, and the desperation and calculated responses made me ill.Still I’d vote Dem just to ensure no Repugs get the Presidency in ’08.It seems big $$$ interests are always in control of things in DC. I hope we vote ourselves out of this mess.
The stakes are way too high to sit on one’s ass. VOTE!!!!!!

CIA running black propaganda operation
against Iran, Syria and Lebanon, officials say

The Raw Story’s Larisa Alexandrovna reports that the CIA and Pentagon seem to be conductingsome quasi-illegal actions deep in Black Ops Territory. Does Iran-Contra ring any bells? Helloooooo, wtf is going on?This is our tax dollars hard at work, hunh? Give me break.

The Central Intelligence Agency has received approval at least twice in the last several years to conduct an “information war” against several countries in the Middle East, including Iran, Lebanon and Syria, according to current and former intelligence officials In addition, the Bush Administration has been running operations out of the Defense Department that are not subject to Congressional oversight, intelligence sources say. These programs appear murkier, and have included support for an alleged terrorist group in Iran.A recent ABC News report revealed that President George W. Bush had signed a presidential finding giving the CIA the authority to conduct “non-lethal” covert operations against Iran. Former and current intelligence sources tell RAW STORY, however, that there have been “at least two” presidential findings over the past few years which have empowered the agency to run an “open-secret” information war against Iranian interests, mainly leveraging resources and assets “within the United States and France.”

Fox analyst: 'Space aliens kidnapped president' and 'left this tool'

When you see a story like this on Fox News, it’s like hearing
The Twilight Zone theme music in your head!!!

From RAW STORY: On Monday, Fox News covered Vladimir Putin's threat that if the US government goes ahead with setting up a missile defense shield in Eastern Europe, Russia will target its own missiles at European targets. The discussion led to an unlikely reversal of political positions, with conservative Fox political analyst Tammy Bruce describing the situation as "another glaring example of the growing incompetency of the Bush administration and his foreign policy," while Democratic strategist Bob Beckel concluded that "I support Bush on this ... and it's a strange day when I do that." Bruce began by defending Putin and asked how we in the US would feel if Russian missiles were sited in Cuba or Honduras. She pointed out that the US missiles in the Czech Republic and Poland are supposedly intended to guard against the threat of potential Iranian long-range missiles, even though those missiles don't yet exist and we've said we're not going to allow Iran to develop them. She then blew up about immigration and Iraq as well, saying, "I'm waiting to find the space aliens that kidnapped the president that I grew to admire after September 11 and left this tool behind. ... I'm furious."

Band Biz
To Infineon and Beyond

Sunday night we jammed for our good friend and promoter Marcos and a cool, if opinionated passer-by named Kelly. We played some jammin’ tunes for them, and later worked out some of the logistics for our 06/09/07 gig at Fiorino’s. We want everyone who can attend our live show to come on down and boogie. If you make it to the show and ask for Meshers, I will give you a 20% discount on your next purchase of any of our production bundles. The show is going to be a hot time in old Rincon Valley! There is an opening band, blues I think, and then it’s time to get the party on with your friendly neighborhood cover band. Yeah baby, it’s us on the stage rockin’ in the free world!!!!!!

The Daily MUFF

Special Report

There has been a concern that my daily enshrinement of hotties with nice bodies might offend someone out there in the world. It did. So now, as all things change and grow, this post will now adapt to the reality that you can’t please all the people all of the time, and chill with the pin-up art. If you want to email us and tell us that you truly love the hotties, then I might bring them back occasionally to heat things up. Now this column will focus on inspirational thoughts and ideas, my own artwork and other cool stuff for your enjoyment. Good luck producing.

Acid Garageband Loops and Royalty Free Music - Flash music

I see how you're doing the blog thing and all that to help increase traffic.... noticed you were astonished with the figure of 180 folks on one single day - listen, I have a bit of leverage here, I could send you a lot of legit traffic for nothing, simply because I like you guys - actually admire you. However, I need to know something. Where the hell is Ely Reis? Is he dead? Did he quit or wtf?I'm using his stuff on some major video shit over here and I'd like to have a small amount of collaboration if required in the future. Btw, you don't need to be so dicey on your blog. Keep the excessive women content out - keep your real content in, about who you guys are and what you're working towards. Your rankings will improve based on that alone. What your dream for inner rythm studios is.You guys have a lot to give, and the world is your audience. Keep working at it. The money will follow. Thanks, BrianAtlanta.
